Create GAEB-DA84 – submit your bid electronically | GAEB-Online 2025
Export DA84
GAEB-Online 2025 automatically detects whether a D84, P84 or X84 needs to be generated.
Before the export, an intelligent function checks that all unit prices have been filled in.
Send the bid straight out of GAEB-Online 2025 by email via the built-in bid assistant.
Besides editing GAEB tenders in MS Word® or MS Excel®, you can also enter your bid prices directly in GAEB-Online 2025 and then produce the bid as a DA84 submission.
GAEB-Online 2025 always detects automatically whether you need to create a D84, P84 or X84 for the client.
What is GAEB DA84? With a GAEB DA84 file the client can import your bid automatically into their software. The D84 file contains the item numbers (order numbers), the bidder's unit and total prices and any bidder information.
Is the bid complete?
Especially with large tenders it can happen that, in the heat of the calculation, not every unit price is filled in. Not a problem for GAEB-Online 2025: before the export to a D84 file, your bid is rechecked by an intelligent review function and you get a clear warning. That's safe and saves a lot of work.
All input fields that have to be completed by the user – prices or bidder information – are clearly marked in yellow by GAEB-Online 2025.
Automatically the right file
GAEB-Online 2025 always produces the right DA84 bid file for your client. If the client sends you the bill of quantities in GAEB 2000, GAEB-Online 2025 creates a DA84 in GAEB 2000. If you receive the BoQ as GAEB DA XML, GAEB-Online 2025 produces a DA84 bid file in GAEB DA XML format.
Price breakdown and bidder information
In addition to capturing unit prices, GAEB-Online 2025 also supports a price breakdown – for example into labour and material – and the entry of bidder information. Both the price breakdown and the bidder information can be captured in GAEB-Online 2025 if they are present in or required by the GAEB file. Any price breakdown and bidder information is also written back into the D84 file.
If you don't want to provide any bidder information, just leave the fields empty – depending on the contract terms, the products named in the BoQ will then usually be considered agreed.
Save as
Of course you can also save the bid in a different GAEB format. That is useful when the bid still has to be read in by an older software version.
Send the bid as a DA84 directly
Via the built-in bid assistant in GAEB-Online 2025 you can send your bid straight out of the program – with a brief cover letter – as a DA84 file by email to the client.
Totals
An intelligent totals function checks the calculated bid total. It's also possible to grant a surcharge or discount (rebate) or to enter an additional cash-discount value for the bid.
Free quantity
GAEB-Online 2025 also supports GAEB tenders with a so-called "free quantity" (the quantity is specified by the bidder). For such items you, as bidder, have to determine the item's quantity yourself and submit it along with the bid price. This typically occurs in civil engineering and road-construction tenders. For items with a "free quantity", GAEB-Online 2025 captures the quantity alongside the unit price.
Conditional formatting
In addition to the automatic price check, users can define their own criteria and highlight cells or rows in colour. These functions – known as conditional formatting – are familiar from Microsoft Excel and fully supported by GAEB-Online 2025. All items that exceed or fall below a particular quantity or price threshold can be highlighted – without any programming skills.
